GT House Extension

The project re-interprets an existing post war house for a young family of 4 by providing new spaces for the family to gather, play and connect to one another.

An extension containing a new living space, utility area and deck has been added to the existing 3 bedroom timber and tin house. The new extension is positioned to define two new courtyard spaces between the residual edges of the site and the deck provides a new visual connection back to the public street edge.

The new spaces are deliberately reserved and scaled to echo the existing building, however where the existing house is introverted the new extension seeks to provide a new visual and physical connection to external spaces.
