MBRC Sports Park, Burpengary

This clubhouse and amenities block was commissioned by Moreton Bay Regional Council as part of a larger sports precinct at Burpengary. The design responds to the geometry of the left over space between three proposed AFL fields. A north-eastern facing clubhouse and south-western amenities block hinge from a continuous in-situ concrete wall which unifies the two elements. From its location atop a viewing berm the singular wall becomes an orienting device in the landscape. Honest expression of the building's structural elements (masonry spine wall, timber portals and steel columns) dictate the building aesthetic. Finishes are fittingly raw and robust, responding to textural and tonal cues in the landscape.
