Paul Worroll
Director / Architect
‘The joy of architecture is enveloped in the process of design and
seeing a simple idea evolve into a built form’
Paul is the reddog... born in England, bred in Australia. His childhood
days were spent kicking a round ball around a park with the intention of being
a professional soccer player. A reality check and a keen desire to draw saw him
plunge into the unknown depths of architecture. In 1992 he graduated from the
University of Queensland with honours and joined the transient society of architectural
graduates.
A particular interest of his is the legibility and clarity of repetitive structural
systems. This is explored further with the layering of materials to create complexity
and interest within a simple framework.
The practice is young and Paul emphasises the importance to nurture students
and attempts to involve the staff in all facets of architecture. He believes
nobody actually works for him, rather that everybody works with each other and
our clients are included in that philosophy.
Outside of architecture Paul has hung up his football boots to participate in
long distance running and ironmans. If you don’t find him doodling on
a piece of paper he is most likely on a pushbike halfway between here and the
Sunshine Coast or pounding the pavements of Brisbane. He also loves plane travel
and is never one to complain about departure lounges or airline food.
