Located on a main road to the CBD this building extension provides
a statement to passing traffic and also guides pedestrians into a previously
understated foyer. A high, bold roof form hovers over the entry supported
by a large concrete tilt-up column, which also provides street identification.
The lower roof of the extension slides under the upper awning and compliments
the bold forms of the existing building. The use of frameless glass and large
honed tilt-up panels accentuates the floating nature of the roofs as they stretch
out to the rivers edge.
Internally the foyer has transparent qualities using reflective materials such
as polished tiles, stainless steel and glass panels, complimenting the frameless
glass corner of the extension.
