Newstead Commercial Village

NCV is located in a strategic location, in an area experiencing unprecedented growth. The buildings provide for a combination of unit sizes, being either one or two storeys. Some units were also designed with mezzanines and have views of the city skyline.

The architectural idea was to provide individuality to each unit, and respond to its strong industrial context. Changes in roof forms, facade treatments, screening devices and colour provide the opportunity to give each unit their own identity.

The skillion roof forms and metal louvre screens were a response to the industrial context of the site. Metal louvre screens provide screening to windows, air conditioning units and in some cases express the entries to the units.
