Student of Architecture

Joanna Kay

Joanna’s love of design grew from an early appreciation of art and how it changes the way people feel. This grew into her passion for architecture and how the curation of space and place can have the same profound effects. While undertaking her Bachelor of Architecture at QUT, along with a 6 month Italian sabbatical, she has enjoyed exposure to a range of projects and the opportunity to grow her knowledge of sustainable architectural practice.

Joanna has contributed to projects spanning various typologies and scales in both Queensland and NSW, allowing her to expand her skills across all project stages. She is charmed by the intricacies of construction and wants to develop a deeper sensitivity to the intersection of architecture and the human experience. Ultimately, Joanna wants to foster a career where her actions align with her principles.

Outside of work, Joanna teaches life drawing classes and throws herself into every opportunity to get outside and into the sunshine. She loves travelling, hiking, and is not impartial to the odd social triathlon.
