Simon Depczynski
Senior Associate | Architect
During and after completing his architectural degree at QUT Simon worked in various architectural practices, gaining exposure to a wide variety of project types and scales in Queensland. During his course, the obligatory European tour enabled him to visit the old world where his roots lay.
“Having been born in a modern country like Australia where the new is the prominent form, exemplary works are critical in the development of our built environment for generations to come.”
With this in mind Simon has always sought to be part of facilitating architecture that defines not only its functional requirements but also the identity of its context and inhabitants.
His interests also lie in passive and sustainable design through research and design, having co-authored several papers on the subject of natural ventilation for the Queensland climate with the Queensland University of Technology. On weekends you may see him on the beach, like most other ‘dogs’, or enjoying the many avenues that life has to offer including cycling.
