Emoji House
Keperra
The design of the Emoji House centres on creating a home that feels connected to its surroundings—both in layout and atmosphere. From the outset, the focus on passive design principles helped to shape a comfortable living environment that works with the natural conditions of the site. Large openings and thoughtful orientation allow natural breezes to flow through the home and bring in soft, filtered light. Internal spaces are intentionally linked to the outdoors, encouraging a sense of openness and daily connection to nature. This approach reduces the need for artificial cooling and lighting while enhancing the overall liveability of the house.
A key feature of the design is the use of a Danpalon screen, which allows soft, filtered natural light to enter the house while maintaining privacy for its occupants. This screen also acts as a subtle threshold between the interior and the exterior, reinforcing the home’s connection to place. The colour palette was intentionally selected to complement the surrounding environment, allowing the house to settle into its landscape rather than dominate it. Together, these elements create a residence that is calm, responsive, and deeply attuned to its setting.
The name “Emoji House” came about in a fun and unexpected way. In the early design sketches, the front façade had a playful look. It was a light-hearted detail that caught everyone’s attention and quickly earned the project its nickname. The name stuck throughout the process and eventually became the official title. It’s a fitting reflection of the home’s character—warm, a little cheeky, and full of personality.

Testimonial
“The house is absolutely beautiful, and it’s exactly what we wanted. From the very beginning, Reddog collaborated with us and listened. They asked the right questions and moved at the right speed through the process, not too fast, not too slow. They consulted with us on decisions, and when we left it with them to make the right choice, they did so. After living in the house for a month – people ask me if there’s anything I’ve seen so far that I regret, or would change… there is nothing.”
