Located in Norman Park, the McIlwraith Avenue project demonstrates commitment to adaptive reuse and sustainable design. Rather than demolish and rebuild, the project retains and refurbishes the existing structure, preserving as much of the original fabric as possible. This approach not only honours the building’s history but also reduces the embodied carbon associated with new construction by extending the building’s life and recycling materials.

The design breathes new life into the ground floor, with upgraded spaces and enhanced street frontages on both sides, complemented by landscaped green areas that enrich the site’s connection to its surroundings.

Within the existing building envelope, a new internal mezzanine level has been introduced. Connected by stairs and lift from the ground floor, this upper level accommodates an office alongside ancillary administration space for the warehouse. Site access is provided via the existing crossover to McIlwraith Avenue.
