Red Hill House

Red Hill

Red Hill House is a careful reworking of an existing home, guided by a masterplan that explores how the original structure can be retained while accommodating an expanded program of spaces. New elements are conceived as modest and complementary, reflecting the character and architecture of the house rather than competing with it. The design responds to a changing family dynamic, improving the entry sequence, integrating a carport  at street level.

The reconfigured plan balances privacy and openness. A generous master suite with ensuite and walk-in robe is supported by three additional bedrooms, a family bathroom and powder room, alongside a laundry and integrated storage. Kitchen, living and dining areas form the centre of the home, with a secondary living space offering flexibility for retreat or gathering. An office and study nook are incorporated to support contemporary patterns of work and study.

Natural light, views and sustainability underpin the design approach. Living spaces are oriented to capture natural light and ventilation, while maintaining privacy from the street and neighbouring properties.
