Redbank Plains Childcare Centre
Redbank Plains
The underlying intent in the design of the Redbank Plains Childcare Centre was a focus on creating a calm and adaptable environment that supports both educators and children. A neutral colour palette and natural materials were carefully selected to establish a gentle, grounded backdrop for daily activities. This understated approach allows the vibrancy of learning and play to emerge naturally, giving educators the flexibility to personalise and evolve the space as the needs of the children change. The result is a setting that feels both calm and inviting.
A strong connection between the interior and exterior spaces was central to the layout of the Centre, with large openings and visual links drawing children toward the outdoor play areas and allowing natural light to flood the interiors. The spatial arrangement incorporates a variety of scales. Spaces include open, communal zones through to smaller, more intimate nooks; all with the intention of supporting diverse modes of interaction and learning.
Clear and intuitive circulation ensures the centre is highly legible, making it easy for all users to navigate. Combined with generous daylight and a palette inspired by nature, the design creates a welcoming and functional learning environment.
